The process isn't really all that daunting. You CAN do it, and I believe everyone should write at least one book in their lifetime. - provided it is the right book for you.
You might be thinking - It's easy for you — you have already written 6 books. I don't know how to write. I don't know what I can say that people would want to read.
Trust me, the book I am currently writing has been tough. I have been healing the dis-ease and living with pain as I carved out time in my day and energy to write it. Not only that add on the hours of research I have had to do and you can see why it must be the right book. And OK your book may not be as complex as mine - but it might be.
I believe that you have plenty to say, and with tons of wonderful resources out there, you don't have to be polished writer to write your book. Writing is a muscle, it builds with practice.
But first you need a good plan, outline and chapter framework - it makes your book easier to write
If you can share information, and you have knowledge, skills and experience - you can write a book. That's why I think a great place to start is with a topic about which you have some level of interest, expertise and passion.
- Do you work in a profession that helps people? Write an informative book on something that will help your clients to achieve something
- Have you been parenting for years? Write a book for other struggling parents
- Do you garden in small spaces? Teach others those skills
- Have you had a horrible illness that you have turned around? People will be clammering to find out how they can do the same.
You see you do have a book to write. You have knowledge, skills and experience to share, and there are plenty of people who could benefit from what you have to say.
Getting started is the hardest part, but having a plan makes it easier.
Join the 7-day plan your non-fiction book challenge and write that book - the one that will change your life and that of your readers.
